Myself looking at the Sea

The healing work that I provide focus upon helping a client embark upon a spirit/internal journey  to interact with or receive guidance from their guides.

Working with clients and “The Focus Upon Client/Spirit Communication”

The phrase “going on a journey” when used in shamanic work describes where one or more people in a session will hopefully interact with various Spirits for the highest good of the client.

In some practices, the journey is limited to only the healer working in a medium capacity to assist the client, or to actively walk the “other side of the veil” to find information from Spirit that is needed to help the client.  This is a honored worldwide tradition and is ancient.

My focus is on teaching the client to understand options to establish Spirit interaction at some level. Depending on the persons capability in this area, they may only feel a minor “peaceful” interaction feeling during the time, or with other clients, they may quickly interact with the Spirits that are there waiting to work with them one-on-one.

In both options, my intuition feels/hears/knows/visions what is needed to discuss during our conversation. I work to bring the client to a quiet mind moment where interaction might begin.

When the client is on their actual journey, I tend to follow along with them and guide them as needed or as the Spirit indicates. Sessions can be short (30 mins) or it can evolve into a 5 hour working event. I never know, things just evolve.

My Sacred Wakan Drums are a mainstay entity in this work. From the beginning to the conclusion of our work together, the client holds a drum they select to work with. Working with a drum means holding it over their heart as they go into meditation and learn to feel the gateway that my drums provide for the interaction with Spirit.

After the first journey work is completed, they select a different drum, and we begin all over again. Many times, I like to encourage them to at least hold and meditate for a short time all of the drums I have as my Working Drums. This provides a wide range of “hands-on” experience for the person feeling how these drums are indeed individual and unique personalities.

In conclusion, I work to introduce the client with my Sacred Drums and other Sacred objects as my method of training and teaching them how they can connect with Spirit on their own time.

I follow this type of spiritual path or Red Road which is somewhat different that traditional methods or teachings. As in all things, we learn, we retain what feels to be correct and then we help others.

Using a Sacred Drum to help initiate a focused journey with Meditation

One journey healing method I like to offer with individual clients,  (that can be effective) is when a client either sits in a chair or lies on the table and is guided to relax.  i ask them to choose a specific Wakan Drum to hold during this work over their heart.  I guide them to enter into a quiet mind or meditative state of mind.

During this time I quietly play rhythm on another one of my drums. As in normal journey work, the person is guided to visit places in their minds eye and we ask that their spirit guides to join and work with the person to give them the help or input their need.  Spirits normally provide guidance as they see is in the highest good, so we just do the work as best we can.

During the journey time, the client can discuss what they are experiencing and we guide the journey further as intuition guides.  As the work progresses, I normally will walk around the table or chair drumming over the client and if there is a spot that seems to be blocked, longer drum time is spent there as needed.

Group Drumming Journey and Meditation

A Group Wakan Drums journey meeting can be very effective both conducted in person at a gathering or drum circle, or over ZOOM or other platform.  I have done both and being able to reach out to many people and help them journey as a collective is very rewarding for all.

IN PERSON EVENT:

If the drum journey event is in person, each person should have their own drum, but I always bring all of my extra working drums so that everyone has one to work with.  After the first journey session, I ask the people trade the Wakan Drums around to another person and we do another journey.   If people who have their own personal drums want to use a Wakan Drum that is totally cool and fun.

Typically, after each journey session we open the floor for anyone to share their experiences with the group.  Interesting discussions can happen.

ZOOM SACRED DRUM JOURNEY EVENT:

A Zoom Event will be just like an in person drum journey meeting except .... I cannot share any of my working drums with the folks.  (humor again) .  My past experiences with this method has been very wonderful as hearing what the folks share with the others does bring deep feelings to all of us.  The Spirits don't care where the attendees live, as these events become a collective gathering with the intent to connect with and communicate with each persons Spirit guides and Angels.
